Hello, I stumbled across your post and was wondering if you had any other information regarding Samuel Rose and his descendants or even his life before. From another source, I have a notation about John Levi Rose who was born in the Sorel Refugee Camp August 22, 1788. His father was Samuel Rose. Do you think this is the same family?

Interesting, I think that #289 is a link. He married Rachel Rose who appears to be the sister of John Levi Rose. I'll keep looking elsewhere for info about their parents Samuel Rose and Chloe Canfield.

I've been using the WikiTree, not sure how accurate it is but it's leading me towards Dutch ancestry (Roosa) when all along I thought we were Irish. Someone has completed a Rose family history on my line starting with John Rose who was born in 1841 in Spencerville. Our line moved to Haley Station sometime after John was born and before he was married in 1871.

I never knew this Rosedale existed. Ironically, I have a cottage on the other side of Smiths Falls and have probably driven very close to Rosedale hundreds of times travelling on Rogers Stevens Drive.
